Our Team

Jack_Kinley_LabMonkeyCommunicationsJack Kinley, CEO & Founder

Jack started Lab Monkey Communications with a mission to help companies improve the professional and personal fulfillment of their employees. He believes that innovative branding—along with consistent, strategic messaging and design—has the power to influence extraordinary changes in any corporate environment.

Branding, in particular, has been Jack’s passion for as long as he can remember. His childhood bedroom walls were covered with Smokey Bear posters his dad would bring home from work at the S.C. Forestry Commission. He credits Smokey Bear with sparking his passion for communications.

Jack has led benefits consultants in the development of compelling brands and creative marketing strategies since 1999. There’s nothing he enjoys more than delving into a company’s culture and history to create a comprehensive communications strategy that helps an organization achieve its most desired outcomes.

Peter Turco, Director of Operations

Peter helps keep everything at Lab Monkey running smoothly. He combines his knowledge of technology and HR not only for our internal benefit but for that of our clients as well.

As Director of Operations, Peter literally has a hand in everything—which seems to suit his style well. When he’s not at work you might find him growing tomatoes, brewing his own beer, launching rockets with his son, or coaching little league.

Cara_LabMonkeyCommunicationsCara Kuehn, Project Manager

Whether she’s behind the scenes or on the front lines with our clients, Cara’s days are spent figuring out how to make the impossible happen. Her careful management of things like timelines, calendars, and budgets mean that our creative teams are allowed to focus on their genius work and churn out top notch creative solutions for our clients.

When she isn’t glued to a timeline, she’s attempting to project manage her household of 4 children, two hamsters and a husband (not necessarily in that order).

ericEric L. Flom, Writer & Project Manager

One might say that Eric’s stint as an employee benefits communicator has been his fallback career. Although he’s actually spent time as a lobbyist, legal assistant, historian and film reviewer, in his early years he dreamed of becoming (at various times) an architect, musician, lawyer, astronaut and shortest member of the NBA. So it’s only recently that he’s given up what seems to have been his true calling – being a career counselor’s worst nightmare.

Eric brings to Lab Monkey over 15 years’ experience as a writer and project manager on various HR, business and financial communications. He’s at his best when organizing and simplifying complex information, helping clients find innovative ways to engage and educate their employees.

Terry_LabMonkeyCommunicationsTerry Sherwood, Writer & Project Manager

Terry is a communications consultant and strategist who understands the challenges and struggles of HR as well as any human resources manager. For more than 25 years, she has produced employee communications for global corporate clients.

It’s no surprise that as a yoga practitioner Terry applies a focused, practical approach to content creation. Her extensive experience in human resources and change management has given her an instinctive knowledge of the employee messaging approaches that work—and the ones that don’t. In fact, she can whip up an effective communications strategy for you before you even have the chance to say “Namaste.”

Kathryn_LabMonkeyCommunicationsKathryn Grill Hoeppel, Graphic Designer

Kathryn is a superb designer with a keen eye. She’s also an award-winning watercolor artist. That’s a lot of creativity for someone who describes herself as practical to a fault.

Throughout her career, Kathryn’s right-brain-meets-left-brain approach has allowed her to provide her clients with visually pleasing layouts and problem-free production. Using design to effectively convey a message takes talent, but it also requires thorough planning and attention to detail through all phases of a project. This is where Kathryn excels. Even printers and pre-press professionals have praised her for the accuracy and fidelity of her print production files.

Kyle_LabMonkeyCommunicationsKyle Strahl, Graphic Designer

Kyle has an almost-clairvoyant knack for turning basic ideas into innovative layouts and campaigns. He can easily visualize the look of a project while it’s still just a gleam in his client’s eye. And he can just as quickly bring it to life.

While many designers are content to nurture and develop their ideas away from prying eyes, Kyle takes a different path. He partners with clients, providing them with consultations, updates and advice along the way. Also a musician, Kyle knows that every great piece—whether it’s a song, website or newsletter—requires harmonious input from every player.
